I was lucky enough to be gifted a box of Risen’s flour a while back, and I can genuinely say it was a pleasure to bake with the Mighty White. The flour was fine and fragrant, and the first bake resulted in a beautiful sourdough loaf - the crumb was light, open and airy, while the crust was golden and blistered. Most importantly, it was absolutely delicious!
I made focaccia and ciabatta with this flour. It’s a really lovely flour and was a big bag to make lots of little focaccia. It’s much better than flour from the supermarket I found. My breads came out really nice, light and tasted great! I would recommend this flour.
I’ve been baking sourdough on and off for a while, but regularly for about 2 years. The first thing I liked about Risen, was the decent 2.5 kilo bag. Unless you order in huge bulk, you can normally only pick up 1-1.5 kilo bags at the supermarket, and that’ll only really make you two loaves.. so the bigger bag was great.
The bread flour was lovely and fine, it smelt really earthy and fresh, and was a much richer colour compared to the shop bought I had left over. It made really lovely loaves, I was very happy with it indeed, and I’ve just ordered some more via subscription which is also really handy and convenient :-)
Excellent flour! I bought one bag of Risen white bread flour and one of their wholemeal flour. They mix very well and make very tasty 50/50 loafs. My kids absolutely love it!
The delivery was quick and painless. Risen is from now on my flour of choice!
For good bagels you need a really good strong bread flour. Risen delivered 100%! Our bagels came out looking and tasting beautiful and the crusty, chewy texture when you bite into them is exactly what you want. A mighty bagel that bites back :)
